CARE FOR THE CRAFT

Leather Gets Better With Time.

A little care helps your Grain Room Co. piece age beautifully and develop the character that makes genuine leather unique.

Simple Care Goes a Long Way

KEEP IT DRY

Leather can handle everyday use, but prolonged moisture may cause staining, stiffness or changes in appearance. If your item gets wet, gently blot excess moisture and allow it to air dry naturally.

AVOID EXCESSIVE HEAT

Do not use a hair dryer, heater or direct high heat to dry leather. Excessive heat can dry the leather and may cause cracking or distortion.

CLEAN GENTLY

Remove surface dust and dirt with a soft, clean cloth. Avoid household cleaners, alcohol, disinfectants and harsh chemicals.

LET IT AGE

Scratches, color changes and patina are a natural part of how quality leather develops character over time.

When to Condition Your Leather

Leather may benefit from occasional conditioning when it begins to feel dry. How often conditioning is needed depends on the type of leather, how frequently the item is used and the environment in which it is carried.

Always test any leather-care product on a small, inconspicuous area first. Conditioners may darken or otherwise change the appearance of leather.

A Few Things Leather Doesn’t Love

    • Prolonged exposure to water
    • Excessive heat or prolonged direct sunlight
    • Household cleaners or alcohol-based products
    • Over-conditioning
    • Long-term storage in sealed plastic

When You’re Not Using It

Store leather goods in a cool, dry place away from prolonged direct sunlight. Allow leather to breathe and avoid placing heavy objects on structured pieces that could change their shape.

NATURAL LEATHER

Character, Not Imperfection

Natural grain, subtle markings, variations in color and the patina that develops with use are part of genuine leather. These characteristics mean every Grain Room Co. piece can develop a character of its own.
